Mark Allen is due to play snooker foe Mark Joyce later today in the Northern Irish Trophy, Belfast.
The Ulster man is not shy at letting his feeling be heard across the snooker community which has sometimes got him into trouble in the past. According to the Daily Star, Mark Allen has slammed Mark Joyce by saying ” “I don’t like Mark Joyce, basically he is a d**k, on and off the table, I doubt even his mum likes him. ”

These are strong words from the World No.10 who has often been criticised for his comments to players and the snooker authorities in the past.
If there was ever a tournament Mark Allen wanted to win, this is the one. The Northern Ireland Trophy is a brand new event, part of the Home Nations tour which covers England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. With each event having a winning prize fund of £70,000 and ranking points up for grabs, Allen will be hoping to capitalise on his home soil.
It’s also been rumoured that Allen will be brining more than 200 of his friends and family to his opening match against Mark Joyce later this evening.
Allen hasn’t had much success against the world No.44 Mark Joyce. Mark Allen has lost 4 of the 5 times these two have met which makes this particular draw for Allen quite difficult.
Mark Allen has been in good form recently. He reached the semi final of the Champion of Champions less than a week ago where he lost out to Ronnie O’Sullivan. If Allen brings that form to tonight’s match then he shouldn’t have any problem overcoming Joyce.
With strong words being passed from each of them, it will undoubtedly be an interesting watch this evening so pencil it in as a ‘must watch’ match.
