Stuart Bingham booked his place in the final of the Labrokes World grand Prix this afternoon after defeating Joe Perry 6-5. The match begun with Perry taking the first 3 frames as Bingham seemed out of form, missing easy balls.
Bingham then took the crucial fourth frame, albeit scrappy to make it 3-1 at the mid session interval. When play resumed, Bingham found some form to bring the match back to 3-3. The next 4 frames was shared by both players with some being slow and messy frames.
The deciding frame saw Bingham get the first opportunity but he broke down on 30. Perry was left with a difficult red which wobbled the pocket and then Bingham was able to take advantage and win the match.
This is the first significant result for Bingham in some time since the world championship and will no doubt give him a burst of confidence. He will face either Ding Junhiu or Shaun Murphy, who are due to get play under way at 7pm tonight.
