Ding Junhui fought back from 3-1 down to beat Un-Nooh 4-3 in the quarter finals of the Ladbrokes Snooker Grand Prix this afternoon.
Un-Nooh started off very well with a break of 97 in the first, only for Ding to hit back with a 92 break. Breaks of 84 and 74 from Un-Nooh took him to a 3-1 lead. Ding sprung into action with breaks of 51 and 65 to level the match 3-3. In the deciding frame, Ding made a match winning break of 108 to take him into the semi finals.
Ding commented after that working with Terry Griffiths has significantly helped him achieve happiness, both on and off the table, which is having positive effects on his game recently.
Joe Perry claimed victory of Ali Carter, beating him 4-1. Carter struggled to put anything together this afternoon but Perry capitalized on his opponents poor performance and cruised into the semi finals.
This evening saw rivals, Shaun Murphy taking on Liang Wenbo. Murphy played superply well and dished up a whitewashing performance beating 4-0. With a pot success of 96% tonight, Wenbo got very few chances at the table.
Murphy and Ding will now meet in the semi finals which is best of 11 and it promises to be an enthralling between these two.
