As the European Masters from Romania heats up coming into the quarter finals, we take a look at the lineup.
Most of the biggest names in snooker are here battling it out for a place in the semi finals tomorrow.
The first match of the day is between Judd Trump and John Higgins. Both of these players are in good form this week but when the two meet later, it will no doubt be an epic battle. Judd Trump is the higher ranking player but Higgins is playing really well so far this week and will take some beating. Either way, this match is going to have everything.
World No.1 Mark Selby will be taking on Alfie Burden (62) next. Although Selby is undoubtedly the strong favorite, Burden has gotten past Ricky Walden earlier in the week so it will not be a walk in the park for Selby.
The big match today will be between Ronnie O’Sullivan and Mark Davis later this evening. Although questions had been asked about O’Sullivan’s recent form, his last match against Mark Allen silenced critics across social media. Mark Davis disposed of Liang Wenbo yesterday and Davis being a strong match player will make winning less than easy for O’Sullivan.
The last match of the day is between Neil Robertson and Anthony McGill. Again Robertson will be coming into this match as a strong favorite, but McGill is hungry for success, so a under performing Robertson today could cause a major upset at this stage of the tournament.
So what could the semi finals tomorrow look like?
At the top half of the draw it could be Mark Selby v Judd Trump and the bottom half could be O’Sullivan v Robertson if all favorites win, but seldom does it work out that way.
