Mark Selby as won the International Snooker Championships from China, trashing Ding Junhui by 10-1 in a dominating performance
It was never really Ding’s day as he failed to get going at all in the final. What’s more, Selby was in awesome form and totally outplayed Ding in every area of the match. Although no centuries were made, frame winning breaks were seen in 7 of the 10 frames Selby won.
Even when the match the 4-1, Ding looked totally dejected and resigned. He did have his chances but poor potting, positional and safety play proved Ding was not at the races.
In the interview after the match, Ding seemed clearly upset and almost embarrassed at his performance in his home country final.
On the positive note, reaching the final of another ranking event brings Ding closer to where he should be in the rankings and currently stands at No.6 in the world.
Snooker events are practically played every week now, and another is set to start tomorrow. The China Championship is an invitational event and sees the best players in the world play.
Ronnie O’Sullivan has pulled out of this event to rest but all of the other top 16 players will be playing along with some wild cards.
