Mark Selby is the current No.1 snooker player in the world. The jester from Leicester as he is famously known (England) has enjoyed being No.1 for the past 2 years. Selby was born on June 19th 1983 in the city of Leicester. One of only a handful of players to win multiple titles, Selby snooker career is on of the most coveted of all time.

Selby snooker career started back in 1999 when he first turned pro at the age of 16. As a youngster, Selby was said by many to be not good enough to make it in professional snooker which he has since proven otherwise to the skeptics by winning multiple trophy’s . Selby prides himself on working hard to achieve his goals and to be successful.

In this years (2016) world championship, Selby snooker pedigree showed once again as he took home the world championship title once again back to Leicester. This makes him one of only a handful of players to win the world championship more than once.

Mark Selby snooker career also includes reaching the world championship final in 2007 which he lost to John Higgins. Other ranking titles include the Welsh open, China open and German masters to name a few. Mark Selby is one of the elite few players who hold the triple crown of the World championships, the UK’s and the Masters.

Selby snooker tactics are described at gritty, as he never gives up on a match, even when it looks like a hopeless cause. He has won multiple matches from grinding out matches on the baize. Although some may call him boring to watch, the Leicester man has a strong snooker following and is certainly considered one of the best snooker players of all time.
