Mark Selby has won the Paul Hunter classic in Fúrth, Germany, beating fellow Leicester man, Tom Ford 4-2 in the final.
The frames were level at 2-2 before Mark Selby won a scrappy 5th which Ford had a golden opportunity to clear but missed a pink. Selby then went on and won the next to win the trophy. The world number 1 went home with a prize of £25000.
Elsewhere this week, the Thai sensation Un-Nooh managed to put his demons to rest in the past by making a 147 break. Last year Un-Nooh missed 2 black balls for the 147. He walked away with a prize of £40000 for the max.
Although some of the top players didn’t enter this years event, the Paul Hunter classic has been a huge success, with sellout crowds everyday. The tournament was not shown on Eurosport channels, but instead shown on the Eurosport player online, which sparked some controversy as it was shown last year when it wasn’t a world ranking event.
