Joe Perry sent the Australian, Neil Robertson home after a 6-2 defeat at the World Open semi final. On the other side of the draw, Ali Carter dispatched Un-Nooh in style by beating him 6-1. The Perry v Carter World Open final will now be played tomorrow.
In the semi final against Robertson, Perry put in three consecutive century breaks against the Australian to close out the match. Although the bookies had predicted a Robertson win, it’s hardly surprising that the quiet man Perry has gotten through to the final here. In recent years, Perry has shown his pedigree and why he is a top player.
Ali Carter has had a great run here at the World Open this week and his win today against Un-Nooh was called correctly by the bookmakers. A better performance was expected from Un-Nooh today though, but overall the up and coming Thai player has a lot of positive things to take away from this week.
So with a Perry v Carter World Open final, who are the bookies favoring? It looks like the bookies are playing it safe and putting out odds which are evens, but some are favoring Carter to win.
It will be a very interesting match as both players have been in reasonable form lately. This week we have seen more of Carter than Perry but we believe Perry is the man to beat in this final. The Perry v Carter World Open final will be close no doubt and both players have the ability to win. Carter will be wanting to prove himself especially after returning to the game after some serious health issues and a win here could see him stamp his authority on the games top ranking players.
